On the Subject of Battle of Wits

Sadly it’s impossible to argue with an idiot so chances of winning here are slim, that won’t stop us from trying though.

You are on a debate team, but you have no idea which side you’re on. Even worse is that you are going first with little time to argue. Your goal is to prepare for both sides of the argument and then argue the side you receive as well as possible. Form a valid argument to solve the module.

Take the serial number and the four numbers shown on the lectern. The top-left number shows how many times you shift all serial number characters to the right. If you get a negative number you shift left instead. Characters that go off the edge will wrap around to the opposite side. The top-right number tells you what to add all characters by using a Caesar cipher but using base-36 instead of the normal alphabet (i.e. instead of A–Z it’s 0–9 then A–Z). This number can also be negative.

The bottom-left and bottom-right numbers show the order in which you arrange the modified serial number for both sides to form both arguments. The position the ‘1’ is in is where the first character goes, ‘2’ is where the second character goes, and so on. If two or more characters are identical, remove all except the earliest occurrence of that character.

Take the NATO letter at the top of the lectern and find it on the next page to receive a 6×6 grid of characters, then assign these letters to a 6×6 grid of dots. To articulate valid arguments on the module, draw lines orthogonal to the grid which go through the characters in the argument exactly once each and in the order they appear. The lines are allowed to overlap.

Pressing the lectern will give you a 6×6 grid of selectable dots, and indicate which side of the debate you’re on. Press all dots of the correct argument line from the start to the end, then press the lectern again to finish. Not finishing or forming an invalid argument within 30 seconds gives a strike but does not reset the module.
